Elaine Biech, founder of Consultant Connection Coffee Chat, is a consultant, facilitator, and author of the Washington Post number one best seller The Art and Science of Training. With four decades of experience and 86 published books, she has been called “one of the titans of the training industry” and the “queen of talent development publishing.” Her most recent books include ATD’s Handbook for Training and Development, Training and Development for Dummies, ed.2, and Skills for Career Success.
She delights in supporting leaders to execute their vision, building teams to maximize their performance, and guiding organizations to address large-scale change. She also enjoys helping new consultants start their practices and encouraging others to ferret out their passion in life. She is a dedicated lifelong learner who believes that excellence isn’t optional and that we all have the potential to reach our goals and live our passion.
Elaine is the recipient of numerous professional awards including the 2020 Association for Talent Development (ATD) Distinguished Contribution Award, the ASTD Bliss Award, ASTD Torch Award, and ASTD Staff Partnership Award. She served on ATD’s board of directors and executive board, the board of governors and executive board of the Center for Creative Leadership, and ISA the Association of Learning Provider’s board of directors. She was the Wisconsin Women Entrepreneur’s Mentor Award recipient and received ISA’s 2022 Thought Leader Award.
She was selected as the first Certified Professional for Talent Development (CPTD) Fellow Honoree by ATD’s Certification Institute. Elaine is the principal author of the TD Body of Knowledge (TDBoK). She is a consummate talent development professional who has been instrumental in guiding the talent development and consulting professions throughout her career.
